Tests for celiac/gliadin: the US BioTek’s ELISA Celiac Antibody Panel is a semi-quantitative analysis of serum Anti-Tissue Transglutaminase IgA (tTg IgA), in addition to IgG and IgA antibodies specific for gliadin.
The blood sample: The blood sample can be collected by you, in your home. All that is required is a finger-prick.
What you get: The fee for this service includes: Sample collecting kit/ postage of kit to you / laboratory fees/ laboratory results/ interpretation by Dr Ford.
The process: Once you have made the purchase:
- We send you the test-collection-kit
- You take the blood sample
- You post the sample to the laboratory agent
- US BioTek measures the sample
- We send you the results
- Dr Ford sends you his interpretation.

Blood tests: Celiac (tTG) and Gliadin antibodies
Celiac disease (CD), also known as gluten-sensitive enteropathy, or idiopathic sprue, is a hereditary response to gliadin, a protein of the larger gluten fraction in wheat. Similar protein fractions are found in rye, barley and triticale.
¤ Semi-quantitative measurement of tissue transglutaminase (tTG) antibody, IgA, in addition to IgG and IgA antibodies to wheat gliadin.
¤ Each analyte is run in complete duplicate for precision.
¤ Serum or dried blood spot specimen required.
